Another new entry to Kupo USA’s line of grip gear is the Side Arm with Baby Pin & Receiver. This arm is designed for smaller diameter riser sections 1.25-1.50″ (31-38cm) such as C-Stands. This side arm allows you to mount a light fixture anywhere along the riser section in just seconds, perfect for when you want to mount your light fixture lower than the height of the light stand itself. It also helps you save space and expense by allowing you to mount multiple light fixtures onto the same light stand. This is particularly useful when you need multiple fixtures to light a tall background evenly. It features a baby 5/8″ (16mm) stud on top and directly below a baby receiver to give you multiple mounting options. It is 19.5″ (50cm) in length to give you ample clearance to mount your light fixture or accessory away from the riser position. The arm features steel square tubing that is rigid and won’t flex under load.

Standard Alli Clamps are an all-purpose steel spring clamps with a baby (5/8” – 16mm) receiver to accept any baby 5/8” (16mm) stud. The regular size clamps also feature a baby stud for mounting into a baby receiver. The baby stud is tapped with a 3/8″-16 female thread for mounting to a 3/8″-16 male thread.
The clamp’s jaws pack quite a bite with a strong spring to hold them closed. This clamp can be mounted to both flat and round surfaces. This is the perfect accessory to hold a fill card or flag.
There are two sizes available, both the regular and the mini.
Black Standard Alli Clamp – KG302011
Silver Standard Alli Clamp – KG302412
The mini is physically smaller and doesn’t have the baby stud.

This question was sent to me via our free Personal Gear Guru service by Cal, asking about our Runway Base to give his C stands the ability to roll.
Hi, we are currently using your C stands, they are solid! We were wondering about adding casters to these C stands to make them more flexible in the studio. Can this be done and do you have casters that fit?
Thank you, Cal.

The Runway Base will take you mobile! Simply just remove the riser section from the turtle base and insert it into the runway base and you are ready to roll!
This question was sent to me via our free Personal Gear Guru service by Randolph, asking about our 5″ Grip Pin to mount a lighting fixture in the 40″ Grip Arm that comes with a C Stand Kit.
First I’d like to say thank you for all the wonderful videos you have on this site. They’re very informative and easy to follow.
I was going to buy the Avenger A2030D 9.8′ Turtle Base kit + Avenger E650 Baby (5/8″) Pin with Collar to use with a beauty dish.
Instead of the Avenger stand, I would like to buy the Kupo 40″ Master C Stand with Turtle Base Kit. Is the Kupo Baby 5/8″ (16mm) Snap-in Pin the pin I’ll need to purchase?
A: GEAR GURU
You will need the 5″ Grip Arm Pin to support your lighting fixture. Just place it in the baby (5/8″) opening in the grip head, position the pin angle, tighten the grip head, and you’re ready to rock!

Remember to place one of the legs in-line with the grip arm so it won’t tip and to use a sandbag on the turtle base for safety! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!
Thank you for the inquiry, your comments on our videos and for supporting Kupo Grip!

Anybody who has ever tried to open or close a C-Stand (Century Stand) more than likely has had an experience that wouldn’t be described as “fast and easy”. Kupo has revolutionized the Turtle Base with it’s Kwik Kollar that allows you to open and close the base in under a second with just the force of gravity.
Watch this video to see just how easy they are to operate and how they can save you time and hassle making your set-up and breakdown a snap!

I think Sir Issac Newton must have been the first professional grip! A turtle base simply means that you can quickly remove the base from the riser section. This is great for multiple reasons such as:
