40″ Hex Grip Arm Video

A few months ago Kupo announced an exciting innovation in grip arm design called the 40″ Hex Grip Arm. It’s a standard 40″ Kupo Grip arm but at the other end of our 40″ grip arm, you will find a baby hex pin with six milled flat surfaces machined into the surface.  Now, you can mount your light fixtures or accessories on the end of your grip arm like a mini boom. They won’t rotate due to the set-screw of that fixture or accessory, locking onto one of the sides of the hex pin. Here is a short video so you can see it in action!

Normally you would have to use a long pin through the grip head to mount your light fixture or accessory, but we figured why not take a standard grip arm and make it that much better? When using the 40″ Hex Grip Arm, you should always place one of the legs of your stand in line with the grip arm. I would also suggest using a sandbag opposite the load so it won’t tip over.

The 40″ Hex Grip Arm is available in silver or matte black.

CONVI CLAMP SYSTEM

The Convi Clamp is more than just an amazing clamp, it’s the foundation of an entire grip system. It features a hexagonal receiver that accepts dozens of Convi accessories from a simple stud to the versatile Max Arm to mount almost any light fixture, camera or accessory. The hex receiver features a spring locking safety system to ensure that the Convi accessory won’t separate from the clamp if the locking screw loosens unexpectedly. It also comes with a saddle to securely mount it on flat surfaces.

A.K.A.

The Convi Clamp has been a staple in the grip industry for many years and its style, depending upon the manufacturer it is also called a Mafer or Super Clamp.

THE KUPO ADVANTAGE

While there may be other manufacturers with a similar style of clamp, Kupo’s Convi Clamp has some distinct advantages. Here are some of the reasons that make our Convi Clamps stand above the crowd:

  • The all-metal Convi Clamp is made from a strong lightweight alloy.
  • The Convi Clamps are certified with a TÜV Rheinland safety rating up to 44 lbs (20 Kg) making it 25% stronger than the competition.
  • All three Convi Clamp styles come clad in a silver alloy or stealthy black powder coated finish.
  • The Adjustable Handle model’s handle can be quickly repositioned when in tight spaces.
